Contract Act, 1872, S.208 -- Power of Attorney -- Death of Principal -- Terminates authority of holder automatically on death of principal, and the knowledge exception under Section 208 does not protect acts done by the holder in ignorance of such death. Agency stands terminated by operation of law, and any transaction executed by the holder thereafter, including a gift deed, is illegal and without legal effect.
