Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, S.2(iii) -- Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances -- Recovered Substance Found to be Bhang -- Bhang is excluded from the definition of cannabis, since it is not shown to be prepared from charas, ganja, or ganja leaves. Ganja leaves and seeds stand excluded from the definition of ganja, and no rule or notification under the Act treats Bhang as a prohibited drug. Conviction under Sections 20(B), 22(B) and 11(B) for possession of a substance found to be Bhang is not sustainable in law.
