Consumer Protection Act, 2019, S.2(42) -- Deficiency in Service -- Legal Services by Advocate -- Services rendered by an advocate to a client fall under a contract of personal service, excluded from the definition of service under the Act. A complaint alleging deficiency in such services is not maintainable before the consumer fora. The view earlier permitting such complaints stands superseded by the law laid down by the Supreme Court.
