Divorce -- Exparte -- Family Court Lacks Jurisdiction to Proceed Ex-Parte on Date Fixed for Reconciliation, Not Hearing; Free Legal Aid Mandatory on Oral Request

A Family Court cannot proceed ex-parte against a defendant on a date fixed for reconciliation or interlocutory proceedings under Section 20(7) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. Such dates do not constitute "hearing" justifying ex-parte orders. Free legal aid under Article 21 is a fundamental right; oral requests must be entertained per NALSA Regulations, 2010. Family Courts must maintain separate panels of legal experts under applicable rules.
