Compassionate Appointment -- Married Daughter -- Entitled to appointment on compassionate grounds after rule amendment
(i) Karnataka Civil Services (Appointment on Compassionate Grounds) Rules, 1996, R.4(1)(b) -- Compassionate Appointment -- Married Daughter -- Eligibility for compassionate appointment extends to married daughters following inclusion of married daughter within the definition of family under the amended Rules. Claim of a married daughter cannot be rejected on the ground of marital status once the amendment brings her within the family for this purpose. (ii) Karnataka Civil Services (Appointment on Compassionate Grounds) Rules, 1996, R.5 -- Compassionate Appointment -- Pension of Mother -- Receipt of pension by a mother who is a retired Government servant does not disentitle the daughter from seeking compassionate appointment on death of the father while in service. Such circumstance is not a valid ground for rejection under the Rules.
