Sessions Court may summon persons not named in charge sheet at committal stage via Section 193 CrPC

Once a Magistrate commits a case to a Sessions Court under Section 209 CrPC, the Sessions Court—having taken cognizance of the offence under Section 193 CrPC—may summon additional accused at the committal stage, even if they were not originally named in the chargesheet, based on the material on record.
