Murder--Blows with Lathi--Repeated Lathi Blows on Vital Parts of Body Establish Intention to Cause Death -- Individual Attribution of Fatal Blow Immaterial When Common Object Proved Under Section 149

A lathi is not inherently a harmless weapon; its lethality depends on the manner of use, the part of the body targeted, and the force employed. Repeated blows on vital regions such as the parietal and temporal areas of the head, causing bone-deep lacerations and skull fracture, establish intention to inflict bodily injury sufficient in the ordinary course of nature to cause death under Clause (3) of Section 300 IPC.
