Framing of Charge -- Rape on False Promise of Marriage -- Subsequent marriage to third party sufficient to create grave suspicion

Indian Penal Code, 1860, S.376(2)(n) -- Framing of Charge -- Rape on False Promise of Marriage -- Subsequent marriage to third party sufficient to create grave suspicion. Marriage of accused to a person other than prosecutrix, without her knowledge, is sufficient to create grave suspicion against accused at the stage of framing of charge. Revisional jurisdiction permits only a prima facie assessment of material on record and does not extend to a meticulous evaluation of evidence or a mini-trial. Interference is warranted only where the order suffers from manifest illegality or jurisdictional error.
