Final Report -- False Information -- where a Final Report exonerates the accused due to false information, police must file a written complaint against the informant

The Investigating Officer is under statutory obligation to submit a complaint for offences under Sections 177 and 182 IPC when a closure report finds allegations false -- Magistrates must not accept Final Reports unless accompanied by such complaints. Non-compliance "would amount to contempt of court."
