Dishonour of Cheque -- Mismatched signature
Where the drawer of a cheque intentionally affixes a signature on the cheque that does not match his specimen signature available with the bank, an offence under S.138 of the Act is made out against such drawer. (Para 11) Dishonour of cheque -- Overwriting and alteration in cheque -- Where a drawer intentionally makes overwritings or alterations in the amount or date mentioned in the cheque, with a view to prevent its honour, and does not authenticate such overwritings or alterations, an offence under S.138 of the Act is attracted.
