Bail--Non-Bailable Offences--Conditions Under Section 480(3) BNSS Not Imposable for Offences Punishable with Imprisonment of Less Than Seven Years

Bail conditions prescribed under Section 480(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita apply only to non-bailable offences punishable with imprisonment of seven years or more, or to offences under Chapters VI, VII, or XVII of the BNSS. These conditions cannot be imposed for offences carrying a lesser punishment. Where such conditions are wrongly imposed, their alleged violation cannot constitute a valid ground for cancellation of bail.
