Under Section 149 IPC, every member of an unlawful assembly is equally liable for acts committed in furtherance of the common object, irrespective of the specific role or individual blow attributed to each accused. At the stage of bail, a court cannot insist upon identification of the particular injury caused by each accused when offences under Sections 143, 147, 148, and 149 IPC are invoked.
