Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, S.483 -- Bail -- Economic Offence -- Economic offences cannot be grouped into a single category for automatic denial of bail -- A charge carrying punishment up to life imprisonment does not by itself disentitle an accused from seeking bail -- Once investigation against an accused is complete and charge-sheet has been filed, continued incarceration must rest on legally sustainable grounds -- Pendency of further investigation against other accused persons is not a valid ground to deny bail to an accused whose role has already been investigated.
